How to Say 'What' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word ki sa means what.

The Creole word 'ki sa' means 'what.'

Consider These Examples


1. Ki sa ou ye? → What are you?

2. Ki sa ou fè? → What do you do?

3. Ki sa ou te fè? → What did you do?


How to Say 'Who' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word ki moun or kiyès means who.

You can say either one of them. The meaning is the same. 

The Creole word 'ki moun' or 'kiyès' means who.

Consider These Examples


1. Ki moun ou ye? → Who are you?

2. Kiyès ou ye? → Who are you?


3. Ki moun li ye? → Who is he?

4. Kiyès li ye? → Who is he?


How to Say 'Where' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word ki kote means where.

The Creole word 'ki kote' means 'where.'

Consider These Examples


1. Ki kote ou ye? → Where are you?

2. Ki kote ou ale? → Where do you go?

3. Ki kote ou te ale? → Where did you go?


How to Say 'When' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word ki lè means when.

The Creole word 'ki lè' means 'when'

1. Ki lè li ye? → When is it?

2. Ki lè ou ale? → When do you go?

3. Ki lè ou te ale? → When did you go?


How to Say 'Why' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word poukisa means why.

The Creole word 'ki sa' means wha

1. Poukisa ou kontan? → Why are you happy?

2. Poukisa ou ale? → Why do you go?

3. Poukisa ou te ale? → Why did you go?


How to Say 'How' in Haitian Creole

The Creole word kòman or ki jan means how.

You can say either one of them. The meaning is the same. 

The Creole word 'kòman' or' ki jan' means what.

Consider These Examples


1. Kòman ou ye? → How are you?

2. Ki jan ou ye? → How are you?


3. Kòman ou ale? → How do you go?

3. Ki jan ou ale? → How do you go?

    I wish there were a creole clip to confirm to the viewer that they are pronouncing the words correctly.

      And also words with 'an' isn't pronounced how you would in english its pronounced like 'ah' so koman would be pronounced komaahh kinda like you would say coma

      Hi, 'ki lè' does literally mean 'what time?'But, it also simply means 'when?'

    Ki lè li ye? Means “What time is it?” But it literally translates in English to “ What time it be(is)?”
